FAQ

Q: What is Ballroom dance?
A: Partnership dancing

Q: What dances do you teach?
A: Most partnership dances! Classic ballroom; Foxtrot, Waltz and Tango. Latin: Salsa, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Merengue. East Coast Swing; Single, Double (Jitterbug), and Triple; along with West Coast Swing. Country and Nightclub as well!

Q: Do I need a partner?
A: Absolutely not!  Group classes or privates can be done as couples or individuals.

Q: Should I take a private or group lesson?
A: That is totally up to you! Taking lessons privately will speed up your learning and of course be more “private!” Group classes tend to be more affordable and give one a chance to practice their dancing with different partners. A combination of both generally speeds up the overall learning but doesn’t always work for everyone!

Q: What should I wear?
A: Formal or casual? Up to you! Whatever you choose needs to be easy to move in and comfortable. For shoes: We recommend suede or leather soled (dress) shoes. Tennis shoes or rubber soled shoes are very hard to move in on the dance floor. Those inclined to heels? Make sure they’re not too high that you feel off balance!

Q: Should I learn one dance or many?
A: Really up to you. If you have one specific dance that you’ve been dying to try, great! If you’re new to it all, there’s no harm in learning a few. Most of the dances have a lot of similarities, so learning the balance/coordination in different ways can actually speed up the learning process.
